Tracy Godwin, CPA
Tracy is what we at RTBH like to call a “Jack (or Jill) of all trades”. Lucky for us, accounting has proven to be her journey’s destination.
Born and raised on the Eastern Shore of the Mobile Bay, Tracy holds degrees in French and English from the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee and chemical engineering and accounting degrees from the University of South Alabama. It was after a stint as a bookkeeper and consultation with working accounting professionals that Tracy discovered she was tailor-made for this business.
As one of our newest accountants, Tracy is focusing her skill set on tax planning and preparation as well as business interruption pertaining to BP claims analysis. Her professional associations include membership in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants, and Beta Alpha Psi.
Away from the office, Tracy spends her time along the Gulf Coast with her husband Trent and their daughter Lauren. Tracy is also a co-leader for Lauren’s Girl Scout troop.
When asked, “What drew you to the accounting profession?” Tracy responded, “I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers and seeing how they relate to each other. The rules also appeal to me: this has to balance with that; if it doesn’t, then you know something is wrong. There is logic to it.”
