Mike has been in practice for 40 years. As a founding partner of Russell Thompson Butler & Houston, his goal was to help create a CPA firm that is considered by reputation alone the best in the Mobile area, defining “best” as one with uncompromised integrity, outstanding client service, bright talented professionals and compassion for all.

Mike is a Mobile native and a graduate of McGill Institute. He earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1972.

Along the way, Mike has cultivated an expertise in the construction and real estate industries and business consulting. His civic contributions include serving on the University of South Alabama’s Campaign Leadership and Mitchell College of Business Executive Council. Additionally, he has served as President of the American Junior Golf Association, the Junior Golf Association of Mobile, the Mobile Touchdown Club and the Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo.

Mike is married to the former Charlyne Chambers and has two adult children, Carlye and Cullen, but is not shy in saying that his pride and joy are his grandchildren. In addition to his love for golf and fitness, his best time is now spent fishing.

When asked, “What is your greatest professional accomplishment?” Mike responds, “Being a part of creating RTBH and taking a chance to do it differently. The four of us jumped in feet first and never looked back. All of us remain proud to be associated with and working on behalf of the Firm.”
