Russell Thompson Butler & Houston was founded on one fundamental goal to be a local CPA firm that is responsive and professional while truly caring about each client and associate’s well being, a business model the larger national firms cannot offer. With a keen wisdom and compassionate spirit, Buddy, one of the founding partners, is leading RTBH through its twenty-fifth of growth in clients, services and associates, making RTBH one of the largest firms in the area.

Buddy is a Mobile native and graduate of McGill Institute. He attended the University of Alabama where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business and Commerce. Buddy returned to Mobile to further his education at the University of South Alabama with a degree in Accounting and received his certification in public accounting in 1967.

Buddy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as a member of the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants. Buddy’s community support includes serving on the board of directors for the Weeks Bay Reserve Foundation and the Salvation Army.

As an avid outdoorsman, Buddy loves to hunt and fish. He also enjoys running and bike rides. Another passion is his family. With three adult children and five grandchildren, Buddy and his wife Mickie like to surround themselves with family, making their bay home a retreat for all to come enjoy nature, relax and regroup.

When asked, “Why is RTBH thriving after 25 years?”, Buddy responds, “the key to our success is twofold, first our relationship with our clients. We offer a great product, our approach is timely and responsive but most importantly we are sincere and have a deep caring commitment to each individual and business we serve. Secondly, there is very little turnover at RTBH making for a strong consistent team. We strive to foster a family environment, one where our associates’ success and happiness are most important.”
