Glenn W. Brown, III, CPA, MAFF

As the managing partner of Russell Thompson Butler & Houston, Skip is the Firm’s constant and steadfast director.
Skip is a 1985 graduate of the University of Georgia where he received his Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting. He joined RTBH in 1995 and became partner in 1998. Prior to joining RTBH, Skip worked in Augusta, Georgia for two regionally recognized CPA firms.
Skip’s practice areas and specialties are wide ranging. From financial accounting, auditing and reporting to business and individual taxation Skip oversees many engagements across numerous industries including construction, not-for-profit, governmental agencies and employee benefit plans. In addition to those areas of expertise, Skip has also received specialized training for internal control evaluations and fraud deterrence strategies and serves as the Firm’s Forensic Financial Analyst. Given Skip’s extensive mastery of the profession’s laws and procedures, he also provides litigation support when needed. Skip’s litigation experience includes acting as a class action settlement administrator as well as an expert witness in both fraud and domestic cases.
He is an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Alabama Society of Certified Public Accounts and the National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts.
Skip’s civic contributions include past Treasurer of the Literacy Coalition of South Alabama, past President of the Georgia Society of CPAs, Augusta Chapter and past Treasurer for the United Way of Central Savannah River Area.
Skip is married to Barclay Carr Brown and is the father of four children ranging in age from 25 to the most recent addition being born in August of 2009. Skip enjoys playing tennis but is currently trading out court time for quality time with his family.
When asked, “Why are you a CPA?” Skip responds?”, “The variety of work. No two clients or situations are the same. Every day holds a new and different challenge, and I mostly enjoy being able to help out, to help solve problems for my clients.”
